The Government First Grade College is established on 10th June, 2013 (G.O.No.ED 44 HPC 2013 Bangalore Dt: 24-06-2013) to cater the needs of higher education to the economically, socially and educationally backward students of the district. The College is started with 23 students in 2013 and today the strength is increased to 430. Girls are the major stake holders of the college. The College is affiliated to Karnatak University Dharwad. B.A., B.Com. Courses are started since the inception of the College. Shortly the B.Sc. course will be commenced in the College. The objectives of the college are to provide social justice to all sections of the society, to develop the spirit of nationalism and social service among the students.
DANDELI is a taluk headquarter town in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. It is in the western Ghat section of the State. The town is situated on river Kali which has taken its birth at Diggi in Joida taluk and join the Arabian sea at Karwar, which is the district head quarter 120 km from Dandeli. Dharwad the neighbouring district headquarters is 55 km from Dandeli. Kali is the only river in the State which flows only in the district. The West-Coast Paper Mill set up in 1955 is the only paper industry survived today in the State. The Western Ghat section is the richest geographical feature with its unique flora and fauna. The forest area is rich in medicinal plants and four types of hornbill a rare bird found in India.
